Kieron Matthews, the IAB's first head of marketing, gave an inspiring and entertaining presentation including a show reel with his favourite, nostalgic, old ads and clips as well as some classic and unreleased Coca-Cola jingles. Kieron's passion for advertising really reached us through his witty, personal recollections of his path through the industry and his message that perserverance really gets results, as does doing the jobs others would rather not.
Moray Maclennan, who was once crowned “The most hated man in advertising”, cleared the bar. His achievements are unprecedented for a man of his age and again like Chris Powell, we were immediately amazed by the approachability and charm of the person in front of us. Make no mistake a sterner side quickly shone through with his first piece of advice and as most of the attendees of the BC are at the beginning of their careers, probably the most relevant.
